How Rayed collects, uses and protects your information across the Rayed, Rayed Vendor and Rayed Delivery apps.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Rayed ("Rayed", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use any of our three apps: the Rayed app for customers, the Rayed Vendor app for restaurants and stores, and the Rayed Delivery app for delivery drivers. By using any Rayed app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

What we collect depends on which Rayed app you use.

Customer accounts (Rayed app)

Profile information such as your name, phone number and email address.
Order details, including the items you order and your order history.
Your delivery address and, while an order is active, live location so you can track your driver on the map.
Payment method — cash on delivery or card details, which are processed and stored by our third-party payment provider, not by Rayed.
Basic device and app usage information, used to keep the app working reliably.

Vendor accounts (Rayed Vendor app)

Business details such as your shop name, branch addresses and contact information.
The items or products you publish, including photos and descriptions.
Orders placed with your shop, including the customer's name, phone number and delivery address needed to fulfil the order.
Verification documents you submit to register your business on Rayed.
Basic device and app usage information, used to keep the app working reliably.

Delivery accounts (Rayed Delivery app)

Your name, phone number and government-issued ID.
Your driving licence, vehicle registration and vehicle insurance, submitted for verification.
Your live location while you are online, so we can show you nearby orders and let customers track their delivery.
Delivery history, including pickup and drop-off details for orders you accept.
Basic device and app usage information, used to keep the app working reliably.

How We Use Your Information

To operate the Rayed platform — creating and managing your account, processing orders, and connecting customers, businesses and drivers.
To coordinate deliveries, including sharing location between the customer, the business and the driver for an active order.
To send order updates, respond to support requests, and share important account or service notices.
To verify driver and business documents, and to help keep the platform safe and prevent fraud or abuse.
To understand how the apps are used and improve their performance and reliability.

Between the parties in an order — for example, a vendor sees the customer's name, phone number and delivery address for their own orders, and a driver sees the pickup and drop-off details needed to complete a delivery.
With service providers who help us run the platform, such as cloud hosting, maps and navigation, and payment processing — only to the extent needed to provide their service to us.
When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Rayed, our users, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your shop, profile and login data are permanently deleted. Completed order or delivery records may be retained for 90 days after account deletion for accounting and legal compliance, after which they are permanently deleted as well.

Your Rights & Deleting Your Account

You can access and update most of your account information directly in the app. You can also request deletion of your account at any time. These rights are provided in line with Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020). Children's Privacy

Rayed's apps are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
